Many years ago, when I still lived at home with mamma and pappa and sister and cat and dog I used to sneak a peek on Oprah on TVNorge every day when I got home from school. I say sneak – because my mamma and pappa have never really approved of Oprah (she’s very American) or TvNorge (it’s commercial). Besides, she talked a lot about God – and that I thought was very scary in itself, so I was constantly “zapping” between the channels. But, one day, Oprah talked about being grateful. I stopped switching between the channels and listened.I like to be grateful. And sometimes I think that the only reason that I pray to God every day is so I can tell someone who’s supposed to be almighty about how grateful I am – of almost everything. Oprah encouraged me to write down three things I’ve been grateful for today, every day. This is what I’ve written today.
1. I am grateful for the coffee my friend bought me today – because coffee always tastes good when it comes with good intentions.
2. I am grateful that I found a really good article about one of my favorite men. So I can send it to my friend, who also thinks he’s top notch, and let her glare at it with awe in Wellington, New Zealand, like I’ve done now, in Oslo.
3. I am grateful that I have a bed, with really nice sheets.
